How do I care for my leather item?

As all natural materials, leather evolves throughout the seasons based on its inherent properties, its coloring, usage, etc. In order to give it longevity and obtain the finish that gives it its beauty and maturity, the leather must be properly maintained. Upon first use of your product Camille Fournet, certain regularly applied practices will conserve the leather’s integrity and refinement.

Leather does not like water

Water is the element that leather dreads above all else. Upon initial and repeated contact, the leather contracts, then dries to a point where it experiences irreparable damage. As such, protect your bag (or accessory) from rain.

In the event of accidental contact with water, simply pat the leather with a dry, nonabrasive cloth and let it air dry, far from all sources of heat (which cause the leather to dry out and lose in quality).

Each time the leather item is cleaned, the same principles must be applied. Avoid water and instead use a lightly damp cloth, following the same drying process. Leather should air dry, far from any sources of heat (such as radiators) so as not to dry out.

How do I care for my leather watch strap?

As all natural materials, leather evolves throughout the seasons based on its inherent properties, its coloring, usage, etc. In order to give it longevity and obtain the finish that gives it its beauty and maturity, the leather strap must be properly maintained. Following its assembly on the watch case, certain regularly applied practices will conserve the leather’s integrity and refinement.

Leather likes gentleness

Even in urgent situations, it is important to take the necessary care when attaching or removing one’s watch strap. In this particular case, leather responds well to gentleness and delicate movements. It suffices to follow a simple principle to guarantee its longevity and greatly limit the risk of breaking: do not force it or bend it too brusquely at a right angle. Movements should be done in a gentle manner, focusing primarily on the buckle to set the buckle tongue or remove it from the long leather piece.

Leather does not like water

Water is the element that leather dreads above all else. Upon initial and repeated contact, the leather contracts, then dries to a point where it experiences irreparable damage. Protect it from rain and contact with water in your everyday tasks, (kitchen, bathroom, shower, etc.) and of course, remember to remove your watch (even if it is waterproof) before jumping into water. Leather also dislikes skin acidity; therefore, remove your watch when exercising, where perspiration will be most damaging.

In the event of accidental contact with water, simply pat the watch strap with a dry, nonabrasive cloth and let it air-dry, far from all sources of heat (which cause the leather to dry out and lose in quality).

Each time the watch strap is cleaned, the same principles must be applied. Avoid water and instead use a lightly damp cloth, following the same drying process, and carefully rub the leather strap well. The watch strap should air-dry, far from any sources of heat so as not to dry out.
