HOW TO CARE FOR A LEATHER BAG
If you wish to care for your leather bag properly, we recommend to establish a specific maintenance routine once a month. This basic care involves using a soft cloth, such as a chamois leather, or a special leather brush, to dust your bag and remove any dirt accumulated both inside and outside.
However, we strongly advise against using leather care products yourself. It is often said that leather should be nourished and moisturized with cream, but some products available on the market are of poor quality and may damage the leather if not applied correctly. To avoid any risk of damage, we recommend not using such products. Moreover, the high quality of Camille Fournet leather does not require any special treatment.
When you are not using your leather bag, it is important to store it carefully, away from light and humidity. We suggest keeping it in its cotton protective pouch, and placing it upright on a shelf rather than hanging it on a hook, which could damage the strap or handle.
Finally, to help your bag retain its original shape and prevent sagging or creasing, we recommend filling it with tissue paper when storing it.
HOW TO CLEAN A LEATHER BAG
If a stain has unfortunately appeared on your Camille Fournet leather bag, do not worry, there are solutions to remedy it.
As previously mentioned, we strongly advise against attempting to clean your bag at home, as water and leather do not always go well together. To remove a stain, we invite you to entrust your leather bag to a Camille Fournet boutique. A professional will answer your questions and can clean your bag directly on site, or, if the stains are more significant, recommend sending it to our manufacture for a deeper cleaning.
Outside of a Camille Fournet boutique, you may of course consult another professional leather care specialist to clean your bag.
